Energy Efficiency Platform — Europe

Part of a broader push to expand an energy-efficiency compliance platform into new EU markets, each governed by its own national incentive scheme with distinct regulations, calculation logic, and documentation requirements. Two markets, built in sequence: Spain and Italy.

Build production-ready platforms, from zero, for each market’s specific methodology — covering the full lifecycle from partner application through calculation, validation, and government-ready submission — while adapting to each country’s regulatory and UX challenges.

• Owned 0→1 PRD creation, including regulatory research into each national incentive scheme
• Ran interviews with regional operations teams to ground the process in real on-the-ground workflow
• Mapped the full process via BPMN, then mapped every calculation formula and project-creation scenario as a decision tree
• Led the engineering team through the build, continuously adjusting PRDs as regulation and requirements evolved
• Coordinated with an outside design agency on Admin/Partner Portal UI across both markets
• Spain (CAE white-certificate scheme): defined the document pipeline — partner uploads extracted via OCR (Anthropic API), validated against submitted data, then used to auto-generate compliance documents for e-signature via Signaturit
• Italy (Conto Termico): designed and shipped a searchable, filterable heater database to make data-dense application forms usable

• Spain: shipped two production-ready applications (Admin Portal + Partner Portal) covering application, calculation, document validation, e-signing, and government-submission bundling
• Spain: built an AI-assisted document pipeline (OCR → validation → auto-generated, e-signed compliance documents), cutting manual document handling
• Spain: early rollout underway with 2 partners, gathering real-world feedback ahead of broader launch — delivered despite regulation changing mid-build
• Italy: delivered a production-ready platform for the Italian methodology, reusing and adapting the architecture proven in Spain
• Italy: searchable heater database turned a high-friction data-entry problem into a usable part of the application flow
• Combined: two market-specific platforms on a shared architecture — proving the product could scale into new regulatory environments without a rebuild each time
